Three Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.
The show will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.
The Football Star
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
